The Mothers

Let me stress here that my concept of motherhood does not only limit to women who give birth to their own children. Motherhood covers those women who did not bear children from their wombs, yet stand as mothers to others.

Foremost example is Mother Mary. She is not only a mother to our Lord Jesus Christ but also to all of humankind. Others are those who take good care of the motherless children, like those whose mothers are working in far away places or abroad. Mostly, they are the grandmothers, aunties, godmothers, sisters, relatives, nannies, relatives, or even friends. While there are others who choose to enter into a kind of life just to become mothers of others - they are the nuns.

While the most fulfilling motherhood of all, are those experienced by women who actually go to the process of giving birth to their own children. This is the most complete motherhood of all. I'm so thankful to be blessed by God with this kind of motherhood.
